so I went to start my car tonight, its been in the garage for over a week cause I think something is wrong with it. about 2 weeks ago the car just died twice while sitting at a couple of lights. So I take if for a drive tonight does fine lots of power no problem idleing but I notice its kind of damp at the rear of the motor about the head area goin down the tranny alittle ways it also got a bit hot tonight as well. question is does it sound like a head gasket issue? lookin for help thanx.

if its a head gasket open up your radiator cap after its been running and if you smell exhaust. then yes its a head gasket. if not. its a diff problem.

you get the chocolate milk yet?
and take off the radiator cap, let it warm up and after the thermostat opens if there are a lot of bubbles coming up then everything is fine. jk
you could also try a compression and leak down test. is the vacuum still good? are you using coolant?

no chocolate milk yet I would like to prevent it from happening, not using any coolant from what I can see still normal levels. suppose I'll have to check compression tomorrow.

durrr....... so grab a towel. open it slightly let all of the pressure release then take off the cap. then smell it.

The running problem sounds like a TFI module issue.
To check for a bad head gasket, find a system pressurizer,it'll expose any leaks right away.

I'll have to let the garage air out a bit first.

you wont always smell it in the antifreeze.
Only sure way to know is to do what I said,or find someone with exhaust gas detection kit.

thanx for the help I'll check on the TFI module I've read there was a recall on those and I'll prolly have it pressure tested this weekend possibly. course If I blow it up gives me good reason to get my new shortblock lol.
