Yes, and there is a thread about my specific router and the cure for it on teamxbox.com. BUT I am such a retard when it comes to trying to figure out what they are talking about I can't do anything.

Post the model number of your router and the exact error message if you can, I'm sure either David or I can explain it to you...hell I can even remote access your compute and do it for you if it comes down to that lol
there is a 90% likelihood that you have to visit the following address
http://192.168.1.1
and type in username and password as "admin" and then open up a certain port range that the 360 uses to connect
That is assuming that you have a Linksys Best-Buy router that everybody has

Best buy recommends netgear for some gay reason.

I can login into my Linksys router but from there I am fking lost, literally.
I know you were just trying to help David, but I have no problem admitting that I am a computer retard. It's tru I am not l337.
And yes it has something to do with opening a "port" and something else

Where do you live? If you're pretty close to me I wouldn't mind coming by and getting it set up for you. I'm on 80th and Old Cheney.
Also do you have a link to the information about the problem that you're having trouble understanding?

Well i think what happened is I forwared ports 88 and 3074 but forgot to set the MTU, so I put the xbox static ip in the DMZ and then changed the MTU and it worked.

honestly, i have never heard of anyone changing their mtu's
Yogi

All I know is it worked, the default set was 1500 and I changed it to 1365.

i would put it back to 1500. that is the maximum transfer unit or transmission unit or whatever. lowering it down may impede other programs. i would leave it at default. putting your xbox's ip on dmz allows traffic on all ports. that was probably the fix. adjusting the mtu may have just been coincidence.

or ask spencer. he programmed the internets and knows all about them.

I tried leaving the MTU at 1500 and it wouldn't work, but once I put it at 1365 it works fine. Also tested this with the xbox in and out of the DMZ.
