Uhhhhh, Audio people, wanna give me a hand?

Im going insane.

Im hooking up a indash dvd, and I can't get the ****er to turn on or do anything...

I've got the wiring harness for my car and hooked all the wires together according to color, red to red, yellow to yellow etc.

Now with the in-dash, there are 2 power wires, one for the brain, one for the screen.

Then there are like 4 ground wires, i hooked those up to the black on the harness, along with the grass green wire to bypass the e-brake thing.

Then I hooked up all the speaker wires, although I don't think I need to since there is a 4-channel amp running them.

Im so freaking confused.

The only action I got out of it was when I undid the ground from the black cable on the harness and touched it to the bare metal on my car, which just made it spit out a CD and nothing else.

Any ideas?

Are all 4 grounds running to the single ground in your harness? Try grounding them all by themselves. If not, I'll buy it.

The worst part about it is that I had one for a year and a half. When my stroker foxbody got smashed it fked the indash all up. Insurance covered it but I used the change to buy a new truck since the car was totaled. Not having one now is what kills me. Once you have indash, you're never complete without it.

Color matching isn't always the right option. My friend's stereo in his car would turn on and work but not save settings. Turns out they matched the red constant wire with the red wire from the car, but the red car wire was a switched power feed. Same thing with the yellow switched feed. Switched them around red->yellow, yellow->red and it worked fine

Yeah the ignition 12v and the constant 12 match up this time, but they never did in my neon. I don't know what the hell is going on with this one, I'm a noob.

1. Test your wiring harness with a multimeter to see if you're actually getting power. Make sure you test the constant and switched power wires. If they don't work, try testing with a better ground.

2. You have an amp, but you hooked the speaker wires up? If the amp is actually hooked up to the speakers those wires shouldn't be attached to anything, on either end.
