It's been on there for about 7 years. Started by using an oil filter wrench, that just crushed it. Then i tried driving a tire wrench through and turning, that just made a big hole. I've also tried beating against it with a jack handle so its pretty screwed up now and i have no idea what to do and that's the only thing from stopping this thing from starting up again. Any idea's?

There's not much of a filter left now. I bought a ball peen and a punch set and I'm gonna try and get the top plate to budge, if that doesn't work then I wont know what else could be done. I work tomorrow so hopefully I can get at it Sunday and have this thing done.

you will get it now. Now you will remember to never go more than 3/4 of a turn past when the gasket touches.

Well I'm back at it again with the punches still no progress even though Ive got some pretty decent hits on it. Whoever put this filter on must have cranked it on then let it sit for 7 years. Any thoughts if i could heat up that gasket to loosen it up?

warm it with a propane torch could help. The punch trick has alway worked for me. Can you put a spaner or something in the holes and turn it?

Snap on makes a strap wrench that I used on diesel truck for years. It's made out of seatbelt material like what you would find on a drag car. If you place it at the top (base) with an extension and a breaker bar, it will grip and either your filter will come off or your motor mount will break and then the car will flip upside down.
If you need to borrow it, I will loan it to you. I am in Omaha though. Let me know.

I got if off yesterday by means of hammer and punch, just had to keep hitting it in the same spot for awhile, thanks for all the help though.

hows it run with new oil?

It runs great, I need to finish the tuneup (spark plugs, wires, etc.), change the clutch/pressure plate, and I need to figure out why the front passenger brake caliper isn't getting any fluid.

Supposed to be in the store in an hour. Hopefully that gets it all squared away, it will be nice being able to stop with both front calipers especially cause I paid 38 bucks for the new ones.
