so Ive had a couple people tell me to make up a build thread, so guess what thats what Im doing.

So this is my 92 plymouth laser RS AWD before I started the build. The setup was 2g pistons, 1g rods, fmic, 550s, chipped ecu, walbro 255, free mods, rps sprung six puck, and fp race manifold with open stock downpipe.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/Picture004.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/Picture008.jpg

okay so I bought an evo 16g with tial 38 wastegate and 3inch downpipe. I put this setup on then first night out it decided to loose all its oil out of the oil filter housing. I fixed that then the next day I was giving CJ a ride and the alternator went out and I still had oil leaks and some knocking so I decided the hell with it and started taking **** a part. :headchop:

SO here are some pics from pulling the motor
BEFORE:

Then here are some pics of the motor getting disassembled:

And also part of my knocking sound was from this.

HERES how the engine bay looked:

And now to fill you in on what the ****s going on. First off the motor is at the machine shop waiting for my bottom end which should be here within the week. I went with wiseco pistons, eagle rods, acl bearings, and arp hardware. since Ive been waiting for the motor to get done I had lots of free time to work on my car so Im wire tucking, fuse box relocation, filling all the unused holes, painting the engine bay, all new bushings, battery relocation, cleaning everything up, and probably lots more Im forgetting. You may be like why the **** are you doing all this with a shitty dsm and my answer is I dont really know. Its a really good learning experience I guess and something to do.

small update for now:
well tonight I ordered a **** ton of parts finally with the money I made from the talon!! I ordered arp main studs, head studs, Cometic Headgasket, gasket kit, alternator and relocation kit, BC cams, and some other stuff I forgot!
Now as soon as those get in I can finally put the motor together!! The engine bay is pretty much just waiting for warmer weather to be painted, the wiring is all figured out finally!, and here are some pics of the bay and block. They are kinda old and shitty so sorry.

well I have some more updates, today I got my alternator relocation kit and a gm 95amp alternator mocked into place to see how it all fits and it is amazing! Here are some pics:

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2145.jpg

Also big thanks for Brett for coming over and helping me solder tonight!! So I decided to ditch the first way I ran my wires and now decided to put my fusebox inside the armrest! This cleans up a **** ton of wires and allows me to only have to run about 10 wires per side to the front of the car for the head lights and horn!! I got the main harness all finished up and in the arm rest, now all I have to do is finish running the wires to the front of the car! so here are some shitty pics of that:

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/DSCF2182.jpg

Then I put in a walbro 255hp along with -6an fuel line:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/DSCF2181.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2221.jpg

Then I also picked up some lovely RC1000 injectors from shaggy!! And just sent my ecu in to get upgraded to ecm link.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2217.jpg

Then continued filling in holes and smoothing everything out:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2236.jpg
Then Finally primered it and is now ready for paint:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2239.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2241.jpg

Thats pretty much how it sits right now. And I also got the crossmember and controlling arms painted and installed new bushings and balljoints in them. And I think thats it for now but more to come.

well ill have a bunch of pics up when I get back from Hawaii, as most of you know I got it running strong but the oil pump seized on the way up to kearney with only 212 miles on it. The bottom end seems fine so far but bearings are shot but not terrible and Im not to sure on the head yet but one camshaft might be seized. Well I trailered her home and pulled the motor a week later and picked up a stock 130,000 mile bolt from kelvin and this motor hasnt even had its head taken off. Before I put the motor in I cleaned her up as much as I could and did a bs elimination, and all new timing components with belt and thats it. I got it up and running before I left for Hawaii. I think it may still have some boost leaks and it still needs the timing set which I didnt feel like doing before I left. So my plans are to push this motor to the max and see what times I can get out of it. ANd my whole setup is still the same except the motor. And like I said lots and lots of pics to come and built motor will more than likely get fixed and put in a new project!!

Well heres a long due update:
I started by pulling the built motor out(and no I havent tore it down yet just waiting on my engine stand to be giving back to me):
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2634.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/1992%20Talon/DSCF2657.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/1992%20Talon/DSCF2662.jpg

Then I cleaned up all the oil and waxed the engine bay!!!
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2673.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2674.jpg
Next was picking up kelvins stock motor and getting it cleaned up:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/1992%20Talon/DSCF2663.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/1992%20Talon/DSCF2666.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/1992%20Talon/DSCF2669.jpg
Then I painted the block and put it all back together while doing a bs elimination to it:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2677.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2678.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2690.jpg
Then I dropped her in!!
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2692.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2693.jpg
Then this is how it sits now except with a custom intake on it
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee58/beansdsm/dsm%20dyno/DSCF2740.jpg
And she is running great on 14lbs and will be tuning at 25lbs very soon!!!

Tomorrow if I get time ill be throwing in some arp headstuds which means its time for high boost. But that will only be when I get the money to take it back to the dyno to get her tuned for hopefully over 400 horsepower.

Turbo only eats children after 4500-5k rpms.... until then its poop. :(

5.7 psi at 4006 rpm :( t3 .70 ar, but basically holds steady from 5k on, granted I still had 1 minor boost leak on one of my SMIM plugs. So that could be maybe 1-300 rpm spool time there, and the inconsistency in holding boost would be based on the leak to me.

Tons of knock in log... this is same log the flywheel came loose so maybe that has to do with it? Based on afr/timing id say flywheel is the cause ha.

Good luck with the hx40 man, but I honestly think t4 is gonna be a joke unless your spraying it.

Guess it wont let me upload a log straight to SCR,

Im not going to be running them since its not an autox car and don't really need them. The same guy I bought mine from makes a three piece design that comes with the north and south bars that looks awesome but I didn't think I needed them.

Yea i read through most of that thread on my lunch break im trying decide if i should do it that way or not..... i do like to take corners fast alot and it will be my daily for a while...... but its an extra 135 bucks...

Welded center diff thanks to the SHOP!!!!!!!
Head back from being resurfaced and new valve seals put in.
Cams just came in.
Hopefully the motor and trans will go in this weekend.

I still need injectors so If anybody has some 1200+cclet me know!
Will be ordering tires too soon! Thanks to shaggy for hooking me up with some 15in wheels. I was planning on running M&H full slicks but I am really considering just going with some Mickey Thompson ET drag radials 225/50/15s. Opinions?

well I just ordered some 225/50/15 mt drag radials and damn that was expensive. A couple days ago I also bought some FIC 1850s and an easy tune box so I should have mostly all the parts for this thing. Yesterday me and evane put the head on with new free ARPs, stock felpro head gasket, then bolted up the turbo setup. Tonight I should get the timing done but we will see and hopefully some pics!

Well cars up and running and has been for awhile. When I had it on the dyno getting tuned it started smoking REAL bad so that ended the tuning. I changed my catch can setup a little and seemed to fix most of it but now whenever I do a pull and let out it will smoke a bit and sometimes at idle. But screw it. I have been working on tuning it myself and will continue. Runs real hard right now at 30psi, low timing, and safe afrs. Plan on going to the track sept. 9 to run tens! Hopefully it will last until then!
