take out the seats, and any unnecessary weight.

less weight like kelvin said, check the plugs, fuel and oil filter, pretty much just common sense stuff and regular maintenance. tire pressure, um... you could try lighter rims, don't know how much it'll help but ya never know.

b20 head=b18a1 or b1 head dont count on 40+mpg you could probly squeaze a few more out if you get a wideband o2 and a programable ecu so you can set your o2 feedback to change your fuel to something like 16:1afr i put mine from 13.75 to 15.5 and gained 4mpg

get taller tires and inflate them to 45psi that can score you 1 or 2 more

b20 and b18b or a head=no difference. Both identicle non vtec heads.
i wouldnt use a gsr crank in an ls block. ls blocks have a taller deck hight then vtec blocks and the gsr crank has a shorter stroke

I just browsed tire rack and the few manufacturers i found that made 265/75/16(not sure if thats the rim size but thats all they had in both those sizes) and 285/75/16 i couldnt get any diameter info.but the weight of the tires was, on all the brands i looked at at least a 10lb diff that would be your milage loss one brand had a 14lb diff.

mythbusters tested a myth about following semis. at 100 feet back you saved arounjd 20% and the closer you got the more you saved untill you reached a point where you were feathering the gas to much to stay put

i get about 36 in town, it depends on how your driving efficiency of the engine, as in where you're shifting. . removed un needed weight and be happy your getting what you get. . .

otherwise get a geo or hybrid if your not happy with that. . .

I thought the S-AFC only controlled the WOT fuel tables? The wideband/programmable computer would work tho. Initial cost wont offset the benefit tho.

The bigger tires thing will help but you will not actually "see the gain". Since the speed sensor is still thinking you have stock sizes. You will go further on a tank of gas but you odometer will still see the same mileage.

also if i put bigger tires on it will throw my odometer off

Yes. bigger tires make the speedo faster than what it is, and smaller tires make the speedo slower. But if you barely change it, then it probably wont change much.

bigger tires will make your speedo read less then the actual speed. smaller tires will make your speedo read higher then the actual speed

The A'PEXi Air Flow Converters work by intercepting the signal between the car's air flow meter and the ECU. The Air Flow Meter is the device that tells the ECU how much air is entering the engine so that the ECU can add the correct amount of fuel.

When in closed loop, the engine does not look at air flow in the engine. It makes fuel adjustments based mainly on O2 sensors
