why bother... sure teh 4fte or whatever its called is a decent motor, but it aint worth the 900 bucks to put it in a tercel. Keep it stock and enjoy the crappyness.

ill buy teh car for a few hundred if you wanna get rid of it.

Ha, no, it's not mine. It's my brother's technically. He lost his license, so he can't drive. Otherwise, it would've been sold a LONG time ago.

the bottom end may as well be made of glass.
they burn oil from rings AND valves.
get distracted for a second and suddenly you're 3 quarts low and, KAPOW!
plus the oil pumps are weak.
I've replaced a half dozen motors in those cars. I wouldn't buy 'em at all, but I can get the car with the motor shelled for a hundy or so, then slam an overpriced used motor in it and people pay up for the car 'cause of the toyota emblem.

I counseled my aunt to buy a ga16de sentra over a turdcell years ago. 240k miles later I still remind her she made the right decision every time I see her.

believe it or not, i have heard that these motors do use a lot of oil. i know a guy who had one with an intake and fart pipe and he always bitched about it using oil like it was going out of style.
