Anyone know why?
We supposedly went to oust Saddam and his regime...
Now that it is coming up on two full years since the fall of the Fedayeen and the death of Saddam.
Why is the U.S still in Iraq?
My guess is Oil.

Yes we got rid of Saddam but then we stuck around to help them establish a government. Had we not stayed, someone else just like him would have stepped in. If we were there for oil, dont you think that the gas prices would be cheaper?

No.
It's not the U.S government who sets the oil prices.
Iraq has an $80,000,000,000 surplus on their oil.
Now that the Iraqi democracy has been set up, why are we still there ?
Shouldn't we stand then up and have them so this **** on their own?

Saddam was not THAT bad in the first place. There are def worse leaders around the world.
Why would prices of oil go down? That means the CEOS make less money on a product in high demand. That would go against fundamental economics.
We are in iraq for a reason now. It is sad it took no reason to make a reason.

wars boost the economy. create demand for more people in the armed forces. only reason we are still there is because we can't leave something unfinished
and all this, because we put him in charge of the country a long time ago and now we regret it because he was pretty much dead to the world when we first started the war. and bush had vengeance

explains why the DOW is so high.

7th October 2008, 01:11 PM
actually no it doesn't. dow at the beginning of the war was low, during the war it went to the highest point ever and now the only reason its low is because of the election and the mortgage bs

Will you define the term "Drugs" for me?
regal403
7th October 2008, 01:38 PM
Some governments define the term drug by law. In the United States, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act definition of "drug" includes "articles intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man or other animals" and "articles (other than food) intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of man or other animals."[9] Consistent with that definition, the U.S. separately defines narcotic drugs and controlled substances, which may include non-drugs, and explicitly excludes tobacco, caffeine and alcoholic beverages.

marijuana is a plant
but one could argue that THC is a drug.

One could also argue that legalizing marijuana would help with the national debt problem.

Beer isn't a drug, but the ethanol in it is a drug.

Bingo!!
I remember reading somewhere that the Dutch government made something like $600,000,000 in taxes from about 730 Marijuana selling coffee shops.
I know for a fact that the United States government would make a whole lot more than that here in the U.S.
