View Full Version : I wanna 2-step the miata

I just bought a digital-6 plus, i want to use it on the miata.

Thoughts?

I got this from a guy on a miata site:

I dont think many have fitted the msd
the na is 2 coils running in wasted spark config - the ecu has two leads that would probably neeed to be interrupted for the two step
I think it will work
but there may be a better solution

keep in mind this is the tech section, no BS.

Serious posts in here only people I don't wanna have to keep cleaning up, by thoughts just give input on the tech at hand, not tell him to do it or tell him something else.

With that being said, shaggy what is the exact question or discussion you want out of this?

just ****ing megasquirt it.

from the sounds of it since its a distributorless ignition you are probably up **** creek. ive never seen an msd on DIS short of the ford DIS (not EDIS)

i dont plan on having this engine in the car long enough to invest the time/money into a megasquirt.

Talk to them. They make one for many cars. It also has a WOT shift feature that cuts timing for a split second while you shift. It is good for a turbo car because it decreases lag between shifts and saves your tranny. Their 2 step is a fuel and timing cut. I am sure you can wire it for just a timing cut if you wanted.

I dont think that digital 6 will do a dam thing for ya if that miata isnt distributed you need the msd ignition set up for waisted spark

If you can show them community interest, they will give you one to test for a huge discount. The WOT part is the best thing tho. It has shaved nearly 2/10 off my buddy's 1/4 times. Other has seen a bigger gain. Check the testimonials.
