He says the economic situation is more important right now.
Most commentators are saying he is unprepared. Even the republican commentators.

Does it say what he planned on doing to help the situation thats going to cause him to miss the debate? haha, what a giant old noob.

He is going to donate 1 of his houses to the YMCA, which will stimulate the economy and get us back on track. He just has to sign a lot of papers first.

No.
Obama pretty much called him out haha. "As a president you must be able to multitask. You cant just focus on one thing at a time."
i laughed.

To flip this back on the Obama camp... I heard today that he is pissed that he cannot have any teleprompters up there to look at... What will Barak do without his speech writer there to tell him what to say?
coop
24th September 2008, 07:51 PM
ya i heard that mccain bargained with obama on that one.....obama gets his teleprompters if mccain can get his mid-debate nap

unprepared I doubt.
is saying "I'm too busy working on the current financial situation" a stunt? Could be. Start to finish this debate won't take 8 hours out of his week I wouldn't think. That doesn't seem like enough time to make a difference either way, but what do I know.

How are they going to have a debate with one of the people gone? Now it's pretty much just a big press conference for Obama.

25th September 2008, 09:22 AM
idk who mccains advisors are but this was a dumb move.....if he doesnt go....he looks like he backed down to obama.....if he does go...he shows he was wrong.....its a bad political move imo

I don't think not going will be as bad as you do, but if he changes his mind and shows up I think that will be the bigger mistake.
I wouldn't worry about it looking like he's backing down to Obama. Obama's already declined a few chances up to this point so it's not like John's been avoiding him.

We'll see I guess.
Obama won't be able to say much about McCain not being there 'cause hypothetically he's actually busy doing his job.

Hopefully they just sit around in akward silence waiting fior McCain's response!

I got the impression from some that they appreciate what john is doing and feel obama is more concerned about the white house than the problems of these country.
Just another way of looking at this....
Seems things got worked out today, i wouldn't be surprised if mccain reports in the morning he will be attending.

I don't know how many of you are watching the debate, but both McCain and Obama are speaking out of their asses.
But, hey, I don't know a politician who doesn't.

Agreed.
As mush as I hate to say it, I lost some respect for McCain when he decided not to look at Obama when he (Obama) was speaking.
He didn't even glance over once, I don't think.

He never did. And he never addressed him directly, even when instructed by the moderator. It was one of our drinking rules that if he did, we would chug a beer.

^^And we never did chug a beer. :(
I think it was a fairly decent debate, but I wish they would have interacted with each other. Obama kept trying, but McCain would only look directly at Lehrer when responding. That said, they both spoke well, and I think whoever you supported going into this debate is the person you think won this debate.
