I'm a McCain supporter. I would have liked to see a rebuttal to that speech. It's a shame it wasn't in a debate type setting though. The fact is, there's a way to say just about anything to make it sound good or bad. I'd really like to see, written down, a side by side comparison of their tax plans.

"So I just wanna, I just wanna be clear, when you're running..." is all you heard?

That's not nearly enough listening to determine whether or not it was worth your time.

if you make less than 250k a year you might be interested in listening to it. An educated voter is better than being a voter who votes on whether there is a a "R" or "D" after their name

With that being said Spencer,

I suggest you do your research on each candidate but I can save you some reading and tell you that Obama is actually MORE in YOUR interest. The way you say it, both candidates will not follow through so shouldn't you pick the candidate who more tailors to you and your specific needs? Since the end result is the same?

So can someone tell me who will be most impacted by obama's tax plan? because the way i see it, small business owners are completly ****ed.

heres a good unbiased look at the big picture of tax breakdowns:
http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/1031268,CST-NWS-tax30.article

as for your comment david:

* Provide Tax Relief for Small Businesses and Start Up Companies: Barack Obama will eliminate all capital gains taxes on start-up and small businesses to encourage innovation and job creation. Obama will also support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation.
* Create a National Network of Public-Private Business Incubators: Barack Obama will support entrepreneurship and spur job growth by creating a national network of public-private business incubators. Business incubators facilitate the critical work of entrepreneurs in creating start-up companies. Obama will invest $250 million per year to increase the number and size of incubators in disadvantaged communities throughout the country.

If obama said he would lower taxes for everyone by no less than 25% across the board, would have the budget balanced in 2 years, reduce the federal debt by 500 billion every year in office, give free health care, and guarantee the social secruity system for the next 50 years would you believe him?

Arguing how much of it they'll actually accomplish is a different discussion. And an attempt to predict the future.

That said, I prefer the mentality that government needs to get out of the way, rather than regulate modulate and in my opinion ****-up basically everything.

A mentality that tends to align with the GOP. Though I admit the execution has been pretty lame lately.

As you stated its actually the GOP getting in the way that has made the necessity for a revamp of the system.

I think of the govt as a DSM. Very slow and usually broken, but as long as you replace the engine every so often it runs. We are in need of a engine swap.

It will, I'm just a die hard conservative, probably because my dad and grandpa are.
Although the main reason is that I believe in what a republican stands for, I will say that some of the reason is the lineage of Right Wing Politico's in my family.
