There's been this idea floating around for a couple years that a 2 liter bottle of coke poured in the proper areas and let dry will provide a sticky, vht-like substance for good launching. Active ingredient: corn syrup. So Drew, Jasen, and myself head to supersaver at 2am and get 2 bottles of karo, 2 bottles of rubbing alcohol, a pack of camels, a hershey's bar, and a frappacino.
The theory goes, spread some karo around in a tire track mark, mix with some alcohol, ignite, and watch burn up and bond to the ground. This was not an easy task and ultimately didn't work. HOWEVER, one small drop of karo smeared around, burn the **** out of the tires, and launching works quite well... really well. I think I lost my rear tires burning out so much for trial and error, but victory is an achievement that cannot be purchased with money.
So here's teh pics...

the final useable path is the last pic... not much, but with a good burnout or two to spread forward, it makes a nice sticky path.
As Drew put it, "Plausible".
