i cant start the 300zx, i need nissan people help

i just droped in my motor about a week ago, and i cant get it to start, it turns over, ive got fuel, ive got spark, ive got air, and ive got compression. im assuming the timing is off, but i just cant get it right. if anybody that knows nissans with distrubtors i need some help, i could pay you some money if you could help me get it running

You've probably got the distributor off by one gear. Pull it out and slide it over slightly another notch .

Make sure #1 Cylinder is at TDC, slide distrib in so that the rotor is pointing directly at #1 spark plug wire.

did you read my post? just because it's pointing at #1 plug doesn't mean that it isn't off by one gear, this could easily be the problem.

he is right, you are off by a tooth or two

i figured if It was off by a tooth or 2 that it would still start and just run like ASS.

^often it will not even do that, just simply not start
