not going to get out of the mobile theme to see poll options. I hope he does not end up in minn. although he could make the difference in this superbowl ready team, I think he is a huge gamble where ever he goes. could be great could be horrible.

I am sure the packers wont let him go to a team like the bears or the vikings.

David

even if his whole season sucks those would be games gb could probably count on losing. which dooesnt help their playoff chances. so I can see why you would say that but my boss a bigger vik fan than me has been keeping his eye on all the gb/farv bs. from what he has hown me I wouldn't say gb has all the cards and that going to minn or chic is not out oof the question. what a mess. but its giving the nfl a lot of attention before the season is even close to starting. I wouldn't be surprised if this is all some media stunt to gain public attn and the end results already figured out.... just a thoughtPosted via Mobile Device

Well, the packers decide where he is traded. I am fairly confident that their is little chance he would go to a rival team. It should be interesting to see where he ends up if he wants to get back into the NFL.

he'll come back and he will probably suck with another team. Probably break his own single season interception record.

last year was abonormal. Lots of QB's have random great year. Even those who are average or less than average. Last year was abnormal and way out of trend for Brett. I think it makes him high risk no matter where he goes and if it's not gb really high risk.. new team, new plays, new players, etc etc high risk can come with great rewards, but he could be a big pile of fail and set a team back 12 million or whatever its going to cost to get him.

what do you mean abnormal? out of the trend? You mean you're going to judge him by the few crappy teams in the last 5 years? When you have no run game and the defense sucks and keeps putting the offense back on the field down by multiple scores, you're not going to do well...

yeah 05 and 06... 2 bad years... posted a meager 71 and 73 qb rating... what else sticks out about those 2 years? Thats when he threw the most passes, throwing over 600 passes both seasons. Even last year he had to carry the team the first half of the season before Ryan Grant broke out.

i wouldn't call him a high risk... a risk? maybe, he is 38 afterall... however its not like he lost the tools to play like Montana or Unitas did.

As it stands, if he came back to the Packers, he'd provide a better chance of winning it all than Rodgers would.

Montana, even in a slightly decrepit state, nearly took the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game back in 93.... I think Favre would stand a better chance on a good team. Yeah he'll fail if he went to the Bears or something, but thats not happening anyways.

he'll be going back to the packers... just not as a starter. If he were to file for his reinstatement, he'll become an active player on the Packers roster. Then its the Packers coaching staffs discretion what to do with him, unless the GM actually makes a move (trade/release)

He will be traded if He comes back it is a question of where.

No don't be surprised if the Packers choose to do nothing with him. I don't know how willing they are to just eat his 12 million dollar salary, but Thompson could do it just to prove a point and make sure he doesn't come back.

however, Favre may not file for reinstatement at all before the season starts. If he does, then doesn't attend training camp, he'll get fined.

Hes worth more as a trade right now, If he comes back I have a hard time beleaving that they will give away money.

i'll agree with the rogers comment. Lets face it, BF is no Brady and no i don't feel like going down that path right now. but in my opinion at this stage in his life it seems very abnormal that he had such a rating last year compared to years past. We could run down a list of QB's the fell off the face of the earth for a few years, sat on benches and then one day came back on the field and had some very impressive years. I can name a couple minn qbs in the last decade for example.

I'm just not convinced he's the answer to most teams. Minn seems to have left some fingerprints on him and all signs point to minn where he's wanting to end up. You can't blame him, minn is set up to do very well this year. The question is will they... an experiance qb like brett might be the finishing touch they need. but it could spell a huge mess, cost draft picks for next year or whatever the case might been and ruin minn for a couple more years to come.

idk i'm torn on if i'd want favre or not. Dont' get me wrong, i think the dude is a stud. I rip on him because of the gb fans (thunder) but in the end i respect the guy and if he came to minn i'd be happy to have him so long as he preforms obviously. But i think it's very risky and i think he's best chance of winning a sb would be with gb just because of how they did last year, he knows the system, he knows the players blah blah blah.

only time will tell.

You can thank Randy Moss for those "resurgences". All a guy like Jeff George, Randall Cunningham, Cullpepper, etc, has to do is chuck the ball in the air in his general direction.

Favre even said in the interview that he offered part of his salary to help get Moss too. I agree it was a poor non-move. Favre to Moss? It would have been beautiful.

Thunder

It wouldn't even be the first time in recent memory that a Packer would do that. I think it was in 99 or 00 that LeRoy Butler gave up some of his salary to help resign Brett and a couple other defensive pickups.

I'm just sick of hearing about it personally. I drive a truck 7 hours a day and spray weeds in Seward county, and I listen to 1480 all day for the most part. I'm just sick of EVERYONE talking about him ALL DAY!
