Winner of a sound competition with 3 JLs in a sealed box = weak.

Also, what's with removing the headlights? Yeah I'm a noob.

You don't have to have 900 speakers and 10293812038 mega watts of power running to them to get big, powerful sound...

the head lights removed are infront of the air intake... so they remove them to "ram" cold air to the intake. Cold air > hot engine bay air.

sweet **** dunn! even if people hate on your car locally, you still have another group of people near enough to hang with and have some fun!

Yeah but a sealed box with 3 JL 12 I'm guessing either W6s or W7s is far from being a good example of sound quality or loudness, I'm just saying if that was the winner they much not have had much competition.

Pretty much what David said, the intake in the GP sits right behind that headlight, so why not make a poor mans ram air if it just requires taking out two bolts.

And that's just 1/6 events I've been hitting up the last few years. 4 of them are just for GPs and other W-bodies, the others are strictly Pontiac, or GP/GTO meets.

You have no idea how nice the sound quality in his car was. The contest wasn't on one particular aspect of a stereo, it was the combined sound quality, max db reading and installation scores combined. His wasn't the loudest, but the loudest came from some ghetto rigged setup, his was the nicest setup with the best sound quality. And you're partially right, the competition wasn't the toughest. Lacey's car with a stock CD player and 2 10" Pioneer Subs powered by 2 500 watt Pioneer Amps had something like the 4th best db reading and was up there in sound quality, I think I heard 2nd in sound quality, but she didn't get to take home a trophy, the install isn't as clean as it could be. It's all my old stuff from HS.

Well it's definitely a nice looking install, and sealed boxes always have even response, so I can see it easily cleaning up in overall sound due to the looks and decent quality.

I'm sure the guy with the loudest setup had a big ugly un-carpeted ported box with a mess of wires and crap showing. Ugliness = deebeeezz

There was nothing older than a '97 at this meet. That was a GP at least.

I'll **** if I see one, I've never seen a GP 2+2, but I've really always wanted to see one IRL.
