View Full Version : me vs screamin, v8tiger, 02 silver z28

Screamin- I got a good jump out of the hole but he had probably a half car on 60 and pulled another car or so through the mid range. I started to pull him a bit up top and we shut down with me right at his back bumper

v8tiger- I had a mediocre launch but it didn't matter, he shot past me pretty good once he hit 2nd and just slowly pulled away from then on. Maybe 2-2.5 cars?

02silverz28- We raced twice... once at a different spot. First spot I got him out of the hole and just stayed in front, I won by probably a car or so.

Second race with him was at a much better road, he hooked up a lot better and I launched a bit too high, he got me by about 1.5 cars.

I'm very pleased with how I did against the LS1s considering the mods/power output.
Good races, thanks for coming down guys, kinda gives me the motivation to get some work done :D http://starcityracing.com/Forums/images/smilies/nx.gif

it was

screamin said he made 340whp on a dynojet and 02 silver z28 said he did 317whp on a mustang dyno(which is probably 340-350 on dynojet)

my best so far is 324 whp on a dynojet. They are full bolton stalled autos. Screamins setup ran 12.8 @ 105

I put down 321 on the mustang dyno and 383 on the dyno jet with the charger.

Thunder
29th June 2008, 06:23 PM
the shops dyno vs dans dyno seem to have some weird gap. I don't know that the silver car makes anything more than 350 because he certainly did not pull on me. I was up there on the top end with him... it would only make sense 350whp with an auto is not pulling on 325whp with a stick.

soooooooooooo impressive. Previous owner of my car made 444whp and ran a 12.1 with a stock motor and procharger at 6 psi. At least us LS1 owners don't have to worry about our blocks splitting in half :rofl:

No, I was eluding to the fact that you had a track that was an hr away and not 3. Little more accessible. On top of that, there is more to racing than just the distance... go run at Bandimere, then go again at KCIR, and tell me you'll run the same times.

don't be mad because you have worthless times from the track. i just call it as i see it. you can bench race all you want and think your car is so super fast on the street, yet you fail to produce any timeslips to back it up. i just think that's funny. you just must be a master street racer to be able to run better on the street then you do at the track. i will bow down now.

Thunder
29th June 2008, 10:13 PM
Anyways, that wasn't the point I was making. The point is, its almost a 3 hour drive to go to a crappy track, so no I don't have anything other than my original 14.2 timeslips and frankly I don't care.

is that right? elevation? or is it in how the track is prepped, and resulting sixty foot times and possibly weather? i doubt there is much difference in elevation, and therefor elevation plays little to no part in your times. just as elevation would have little to no part in comparing times from scribner to kearney. but you are telling me i can't compare them because of elevation.

I had already typed out a sarcastic response about track prep but I really don't want this turning into some sweet flame war like half the threads on SCR. But yeah, track prep at MAM was worlds better than Kearney. Hence the .6 drop in my 60 times...

Well i give you props for building it yourself. but it really should be 300 some rwhp with just the blower.

I built my own engine when i was 16, and it went 11s with stock bottom end, stock heads, stock intake and a b-303 cam. where is my cookie?

guess i had no idea he had a supercharged 347. last i knew he had cheap ass GT40 heads and a cobra intake or some ****, a fairly low buck H/C/I on a stock 302.

I would agree, that is pretty same if a supercharged 347 was barely beating you.

and I walked all over him when he had that previous set up and I had just exhaust and gears. His old set up was SOOOO far from impressive its not even funny.

But his new setup sounds decent, just needs suspension and tires

That's what a stock 302 with a power adder should be putting down.

the only reason i said anything to begin with, is because i see you bench racing a lot.

in this thread, you made the comment on how you had no problem with Bower's H/C/I fox, there for if V8Tiger had just H/C/I you would have had no problem beating him either.

I just think it's funny you think you could beat any H/C/I mustang, and as made obvious by my track times that i've had with my own mustang, you would have come no where close to beating my simple combo. then you had to try and educate me on track differences? ya, like i don't know that. My simple H/C/I 302 would run a full second faster then your LS1, at any track. I gaurantee it.

in his defense, he did not say that about any h/c/i fox as he did not that I remember claim he would beat me. with my previous setup

Silly faggot LS1 owner. Buy a fogger and we'll see who goes faster and who's car breaks first. I'll bet I can go faster and break fewer parts. STOCK PRODUCTION BLOCK, STOCK FORD TRANS CASE, STOCK FORD DIFF.......:joe:

At least us Mustang guys don't have to stop and call a tow truck after the first launch because the ring and pinion out of the rear diff is laying on the ground. See how stupid that sounds? Goes both ways.

I was thinking about that. When warp drive sets in, the imbalance of photon energy emanating from the tainted lenses might actually result in a NASCAR style turn at high speed. But at the rate things are going...I should never have to worry about it. Internal combustion engines will be obsolete by the time I get it together. I never thought Clevite would have such an inter galactic back order on simple things like....main bearings....:(
