Yeah. It sucked.

Then again, I don't think anyone has, because you can't buy a copy of the "whole" bible.

You can, but you have to look hard for one; afterall it'll be around 120 years old likely older.

Between Constantine, Apocraphy and everything in between it really got messed up.

Dave where you going anywhere with this or just curious?

dave
10th July 2008, 06:24 PM
I was just curious mostly.
It seems to me that the bible is the instruction manual for life if you are Christian. It defines and outlines the meaning and purpose of existence.
If there was a life manual for a guy like me, an atheist, i would read it over and over again, and make sure i followed it to a T.

supercrackerbox
11th July 2008, 01:07 AM
Wouldn't that be against the concept of atheism?

dave
11th July 2008, 10:08 AM
I'm not sure you guys know what atheism is. It's not anti-god, it's no god.
What I'm saying is if I truly believed there was a book out there that was an all inclusive description of how to live the perfect life (opinion obviously) I would follow it. I don't believe in such a book.
But you guys must literally believe the Bible is the meaning of life. I'm sayin I would probably read it if it meant that much to me.

Ah, but let's look at your description of this imaginary book.

There's a word for how you're describing this book, and that word is FAITH. Not necessarily in a god, but faith nonetheless.

It's a book about building explosives, and destroying things. Seemed to me he was trying to insinuate that atheists are out to destroy the world.

Meh, you just sneak outside. Walk to the corner. Look at the street sign, and figure out what direction to start walking.
