If they are fair to everyone even those who are are mus**** then why not? you can customize plates why can't the background be customized?
certain states have military and retired military ones. I've also see other misc plates for different groups.
If it is just the one, and it currently appears to be... then um.. no.

because of the first sentence......
license plates are state mandated.....and therefore should be devoid of any religion......thats the point
YOUR CAR.....is YOURS....go ahead and put your fish on it.....

As to whether or not it should be allowed, I can't believe you actually give a ****.
The other half of my opinion is that it's a terrible idea on the part of whoever proposed it. Just like I think it's a terrible idea to have a fish on your car, or any other symbol of affiliation. The simple reason is you are never ever ever on your very best day going to leave a positive impression on the general public. What is infinitely more likely is that you're going to do something stupid and now someone is going to associate that with your faith. You drive too nice a car, shouldn't a good Christian be giving their disposable income away? Or you drive too shabby of a car, and Christians must not know how to take care of their stuff. Or you drive too fast so Christians must be crazy. Or you drive too slow so Christians must be incompetent. AD NAUSEUM.

me give a ****?
i think if we actually followed the constitution then lots of problems would be avoided......but ok...

you could exalt the constitution as holy and infallible and chase possible infractions the rest of your life. the world would still have plenty of problems.

right.
so why has something so petty as this got your attention. it comes across more like a vendetta against religion than a genuine interest in injustice. from my point of view anyway.

I don't care if you support your religion, put all the bumper stickers you want on your car. Go to move premieres with a huge cross and a megaphone and be a douche bag, that's fine.
What bothers me about this is the fact that the government is even considering it. This is a clear violation of separation of church and state. It bugs me that the people responsible for this have the audacity to even try it.

alrighty then; sports. Huskers for example
You go, you give, you watch, you support, you discuss. People argue, they get excited, they treat each other in a way they would not normally. Participants must dress a certain way, eat a certain way, do certain exercises. It may or may not be acceptable to those around you to support one team or another.
There is a religious-type fervor with which people respond to sports. Should we be equally aghast that our local government supports the Huskers by allowing custom license plates. Particularly in light of the fact they don't allow tribute to OTHER football teams?
This is not important. This is not changing the world one way or another. There are real problems out there. This is not one of them.

Religion and sports aren't even close to the same thing. Aside from the fact that supporters of each show their enthusiasm in a few similar ways, they are nothing alike.
Religion IS serious business.

I'll let you think on what you just said and if you wanna alter your positioon after awhile that's okay.

license plates should be plain white plastic, with black block lettering
and free.

Explain to me how religion and sports are at all alike other than a few similar pageantries?

If they do actually start making those, somebody in that state needs to get one with "FUK GOD" plates

I agree with spencer but do blv registration should cost a nominal fee that's federally reg not state so states like nebraska can't be little bitches.
What daniel is forgetting is that the consititution should not be subjected to personal opinions....the same thing happens with abortion and capital punishment....as long as we continue to let personal baises run the country we will fail....the consititution was designed to protect people from personal baises and agendas...that's the whole ****ing point....
Bobby Light

NOMINAL FEE is the key there
its gonna cost me 108 dollars to register a 600 dollar truck...something is SERIOUSLY wrong there
BTW, I do not think it is right for one person to dictate weather an unborn baby lives or dies...it has no choice
death penalty...that person had a choice, if you didnt want to be possibly subjected to death...then maybe you shouldnt have committed that crime.

why is this so offensive? you guys act like someone kicked your dog.
I've always found pictures on plates annoying. I wish plates and licenses were federally regulated.
I don't see how this is really any different than buying plates with big red n's on it to support UNL (huskers) or to have a picture of a purple heart showing that you've earned a purple heart....
the plates are optional just like they would have been in FL. If jerry wants to spend an extra $20 to show the world he's a christian why should anyone care and why should the state care about taking his money? Optional plates are a form of revenue right?
The state of nebraska endorses the N plates... i've gone to SCC and Bellevue so i should be very offended and file a law suit against the state, because the state does not endorse my schools??

I can't believe people actually consider religious license plates in the same league as sports related plates. Seriously, the fact that you can say stuff like that and not use yellow font scares me.

i am not pissed off at this...for it should have never been brought up in the first place.....religion has no place in how our government is run nor should our government place religion into its functions......plain and simple....its not the issue at hand...but more of it at a global perspective

Then explain what relation sports have with our governement? In nebraska there are not alot of special plate designs available, but of all things we do have a husker option... in other states they have plenty and in a quick google search i found this
http://www.mass.gov/rmv/express/plates.htm
http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/specialdesign.html
http://www.azdot.gov/mvd/vehicle/mvdplate.asp
lot of groups with special plates. crying about a cross sounds like alot of sand in the vag.
personally i don't give a **** one way or another. Honestly i wish they either went way out and let people just customize how ever they felt or just made a universal plate (plain)
