Weak, leave out the Mitsubishi's, Nissan's, and Toyota's because they dominated the list.

You would nut if you saw all the coverage Car and Driver gave DSMs. They were pretty killer for back then....... till they blew up.

Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Toyota all had 320HP car's back then. I just look at the 90's as a turning point for when imports really started cutting in to the performance market in America.

The Supra, VR4, and 300ZX never held a candle to the ZR1 though, even if they were 300+hp.
America > Over there

I think the R/T-10 had it's hands full with the ZR1. Both were pricey, both could snap off high 12s, but the ZR1 did it with a lot less motor.

sounds like the production run was too limited to even compare it to the viper. Viper ruled the streets. Still does.

sounds like the production run was too limited to even compare it to the viper.
There was only 1,691 more Vipers made in that era, so I don't think being more limited really changes the outlook.
TOTAL US PRODUCTION:
1990
ZR1 - 3,049
Viper - 0
1991
ZR1 - 2,044
Viper - 0
1992
ZR1 - 502
Viper - 236
1993
ZR1 - 448
Viper - 938
1994
ZR1 - 448
Viper - 2,394
1995
ZR1 - 448
Viper - 1,422
1996
ZR1 - 0
Viper - 1,852
1997
ZR1 - 0
Viper - 1,788
Total from 1990-1997
ZR1 - 6,939
Viper - 8,630
Viper ruled the streets. Still does.
Even us Ford guys can admit that the C6 Z06 pretty much makes everything else look like it's not even trying. :bolt:

More like the WS6. I don't know why the SS always runs harder in all the shootouts I come across. (compared to the WS6)
David

I've always thought that with equal drivers the WS6 would take an SS.

I've yet to see an article that has done that. Why, I don't know.
Here is a 93 shootout:

I'm sure it's assumed they will produce equal results. Remove the plastic infront of the WS6 intake and i'm sure you will see it pull ahead.
