Motor sports regulations

Regulations in the county’s new motor sports amendment:

-Race tracks, drag strips or other motor sports facilities will be allowed by special permit in the AG agricultural zoning district.

-The property should be at least 70 acres and at least a half-mile from existing residential areas, schools, churches, parks, cemeteries, rural use/acreage areas and designated open space.

-Applicants must submit a professional sound assessment for health department review. It can be done by computer modeling or department-approved on-site noise testing.

-Before its operation, a motor sports center must install an approved device to monitor noise and make that information available to the health department.

-Facilities can’t operate between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.

-The County Board can change the conditions or impose new conditions in the interest of public health and safety.

what a joke. It's amazing that other cities have found ways to support a drag strip but lincoln can't.

There is no where in this county that meets those requirements.
