Don't own a car atm, so I figured I'd just make a log on my bike
Bought it from this girls dad awhile back. I was dating her at the time, got a SICK deal on it. Clean title, 2400 miles, I was 2nd owner, $750.
Didn't have any of the front fairings and the headlight was kinda rigged up. Left it like that forever and just rode it.
Overall Length: 2,075 mm (81.7 in)
Overall Width: 715 mm (28.1 in)
Overall Height: 1,145 mm (45.1 in)
Seat Height: 825 mm (32.1 in)
Ground Clearance: 128 mm (5.0 in)
Wheelbase: 1,390 mm (54.7 in)
Dry Weight: 161 kg (354 lbs)
Engine type: Water-cooled 599 cc inline-4, DOHC, 16 valves. 126 hp (92.7 kW)/ 13,000 rpm, 69.6 Nm / 10,800 rpm
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i232/xBurntzx/mybike.jpg
This spring I started riding again. Bout a month back I had to slam on the brakes hardcore and the bike went up, and over. Put a dent in the tank, cracked the tail fairing, and broke the subframe. I replaced the subframe, filled in the dent best I could and repainted it, also put a Yoshimura RS-3 Slip on.

Makin a decent amount of money atm, so within the next month I plan on buying alot of shiz.
New fairing set with front stay
New Headlight
-1 / +2 Sprocket set w/ new chain
New tailight w/ integrated turn signals
Flushmount turn signals for the front.
New levers, and brake lever
Cage
Also going to chop the yoshi down to about half size and repack it.
Just some pictures:

Btw, yes all the bolts are their. Not missing any in the subframe :)

UPDATE
Ordered a 520 sprocket conversion set for the bike. -1 +2 i think, says lose about 10% top speed, thats fine with me
Got the gold chain too for an extra 10 bucks, 175 altogether.
Also, gave my old subframe to this guy that lives across the street and he's going to fabricate me a tubular reinforced subframe. GSX-R's get a bad rep for having oiling problems during wheelies and the subframes being weak. So this is a good opportunity to knock one of the problems out.

its fun though. and honestly, it takes skill. sorry but any random guy can learn a manual and shift thru gears racing, but to throw your legs over a handlebar and do a balance point wheelie takes skill. im workin on it, im not good by any means yet but i'll practice and get their.
UPDATE:
should get my new sprockets on sunday, and hopefully get the pipe cut down soon too. possibly a new headlight on the way.

hmmm, if any random guy could shift through gears racing, then everyone who rides would be a damn AMA champion, lol. try going to the strip and pulling a 1.6 sixty foot time on a stock wheel base bike. i'll laugh when you flip it over
i know that stunting is fun, i just don't see the point in destroying a new bike, just for the entertainment of your friends watching.

thanks hibs, that is exactly what I was thinking, sooooo anybody can launch? right have fun with that idea
but Hibs the plus side to this situation, is that the bike was already ruined so stunting wont make it any worse

I guess i understand that, but I would fix it up then have a nice bike for cheap, or just resell it and make money. But that's just me.

funny thing your hopping back into my thread again rabbid. i had a guy with $3000 cash in hand but i decided to keep it. thanks though.
UPDATE:
God the sprockets on, but to no-use cuz my clutch is slipping :(
So i'll be ordering a new one monday and getting it in before the KC New Breed WoF trip. Even with a completely slipping clutch, its still feels faster then stock. Kinda odd. Im thinking it might just be a spring or something because the clutch will randomly catch. Got on it hard on O street tonight and pulled about 8 o'clock. kinda freaked me out. Can't wait to get the new clutch in their :D
Johnny
11th June 2008, 08:30 PM
funny that you found someone that wanted to give you 3k for nothing but a stunt bike, that wasnt even ready to stunt...
but congrats on deceiding to keep it and learning to stunt, be smart n get a cage now
Burntz
11th June 2008, 09:24 PM
UPDATE:
New clutch on order. New plates, springs, and shizzle. Kevlar too, should hold up MUCH better.
Ill get a cage eventually. I just like doin small ****. wheelies mostly. Will hopefully get my standup down once i get this damn clutch in.
Oh and i wasn't selling it strictly as a stunt bike. **** the bike isnt even good for stunting. Selling it as a cheaper newer bike with low miles. He wanted it for his g/f.
Burntz

New clutch in! Just kinda pulled it apart and figured it out. Called Fuyon for a couple tips but that's about it.
Damn thing won't fully disengage with the clutch lever fully pulled though. Barely catch's. Pretty sure i need to adjust the clutch, if not I wasted $22 in oil :/

:lol: wow nice. i'm gonna laugh when you post your next WORK LOG, about how they had to take skin grafts from your leg to fix your shoulder/back after you dropped the bike doing a wheelie. if you stunt you drop the bike. repeatedly. nice decision there.

yea, had to slam on the brakes for a car, couldn't keep it down. **** happens ya know
Went down a few days ago again, won't go into details, but was on the throttle for a certain reason, turned a corner, thought I downshifted into 2nd, apparently I was in 1st, popped it 12 and it came down.
Whole next day wasn't fun. ** LPD
Anyways. Gotta jbweld the stator cover AGAIN
Need a left side clip on.
5 quarts of oil, then it will be good to go again.
Can't believe that was all that was damaged. Small scuffs on the tail fairing and left side passenger peg, but I'm getting a subframe cage and a new tail fairing anyway.
Getting $5k in living expense money in a month for school. Many new parts will be on the way when that happens. Many updates will take place
Not to meantion I'll be serving at Hu Hot, and hopefully DT bdubs, so by next spring the bike is gonna be minty again. Then I might just sell it and buy a stunt piece that I don't give a **** about.
Burntz
31st July 2008, 04:07 AM
Oh and hibs, you don't drop the bike repeatedly when you stunt, if your a pussy like me and only do 2nd gear wheelies mostly haha. You should know they're pretty smooth and easy to control.
I did start workin with seat standers the other day. I get it up and almost stand all the way up, but I'm bein a pussy haha. Need to fkin get a damn cage, plus I wasn't wearing my jacket so I was bein careful.
But ****, its a helluva lot easier to get a 3rd gear up standin on the back seat then on the back pegs. Damn.
Mr. Jeff
2nd August 2008, 08:40 AM
with no hand break, nice......
Burntz
6th August 2008, 04:00 AM
ya, i kno, its what I do. I never get balance point high anyways cuz I realize this "not having a rear brake" situation, and know better. Im just practicing the whole "getting used to doing a wheelie" thing, whether its standing on the back seat, pegs, staggered, front pegs, sit down, whatever.
Also, since I know im losing my license till springish, within the next couple months, you'll be seeing a TON of updates of me getting the back to "Like Mint" status, because I'll be selling it in the spring, and buying a stunt bike (lot only for the most part), that i wont be registering or insuring (****in sr22)
I get $5000 in a month's time for "living expenses" from my student loans.
I have alot of **** to pay, do, etc, So I plan on having $1000-$1500 to spend on the bike. Plus serving at Hu-Hot and hopefully Bw3's downtown, should help.
So, my road to .. restoring? the bike

So your going to blow all your student loans on bike parts cause you cant ride??? Sounds smart
Burntz
6th August 2008, 03:52 PM
I can't ride it..? Or do you mean legally? Cuz I still have my license. Im barely blowing 1/5 of them, and its all living expense money.
Least I didn't blow like 10k on a slow rotary. I got maybe 1700 into my bike total right now, including what I bought it for. Its a clean title, 7k miles right now. **** off k? Cuz you spent way too much money on your "turbo convertible" :-O, and Id still put 7 cars on you
