So my friend has a 97 camaro that's been sitting for a while in storage. I broke it out last night to drive, only to find that a mouse had crawled inside there and got into the blower fan for HVAC. I don't know if it was dead or alive, but he fired up the a/c and heard it thumping around in there real bad. After much laughter, we realized this is a problem. We can get the mouse out by dropping the fan motor, but wtf do we do about the smell that's soon to come??

I pulled a mouse infested '71 Camaro out of a corn field after it had been sitting for eleven years. I stripped the interior to clean it up and I mean not a panel was left, bare metal everywhere. Pulled the nests out, washed the carpet, scrubbed front and back of all the panels, seats, ducts, etc. After all that work, I tossed in a nice smelling air freshener. The inside of the car smelled like cherry covered rat ****. It was sold a month after I bought it.
cliffs: Good luck!

My parents have been having a hell of a time with mice. One got into the console in my dad's Lightning and tore everything up. One made a nest in the glovebox of my dad's Mustang. One got into my mom's SHO and ate a chunk off the shifter nob. And one got into my Bobcat and ate up my ****ing owners manual.
This all happened last month.

It's very difficult. Might try going to a funeral home and asking them if they will sell you some deodorizer that they use. It's powerful though, so be careful with it.

the only thing is, this was one mouse in that duct, so I guess he'll have to replace that whole duct work if worse comes to worse.

A local carlot has a truck that a guy died in the summer and no one found for 2 days. It has a bad smell when its warm.

Next time put some moth balls at the tires of the car and no mice will come near it.

That funeral home thing was serious. They use some wicked deodorizers. If you've ever smelled burnt flesh, you'd know why.

Why didn't you get the thing out of there as soon as you heard it thumping around?

oh and as for the smell I know there is this stuff called "Friggy Fresh" that they use at work to help de-odorized the a/c system's. You might want to try that on your friends camaro
